I love the theory about the cat sentry!! My cats eat dry food, but they have had canned enough times that they, too, think the can opener means food.
I think it's wonderful that you have had them all "fixed". I have 3 cats, and they are my babies....the one in my avatar is Elvis, the old man, who's about 7 or 8. They are all spoiled rotten, but bring much joy to my life. We also have a chihuahua, but the cats definitely rule the house.
I give my cats treats, and they each have their own little spots where I put their treats. I accidentally poured treats for Elvis in one of the other cats's spots...he just looked at me like I had lost my mind. They like their routines!
