I've tried PDAs, family calendars on my iGoogle page, running lists. Best I've been able to do is simplify and not take on too much (which is difficult when I'm in school). I do keep a day planner and force myself to refer to it a lot.
The "fibro fog" gets me. When I'm having a flare, it's more difficult to remember things, so I become a little more vigilant about the super-important things. I also think I did irreparable damage when drinking/using.
I pat myself on the back when I do remember what I need to do. I had three items on my Christmas shopping list (a movie for my husband, a pencil sharpener for my daughter, and tape) that existed only in my head, and I kept finding reasons not to write them down. I really figured I'd come home without one or more of those items--but I remembered! Yay for me!
I'm sorry it's so much an issue, Liz. You're not alone.
Peace & Love,
Sugah
