Chronic pain- neurologia
Hey there, thanks for the thread, this is exactly what I need to share more about.
I've been diagnosed with spinal cord stenosis (pinching) at C5 (neck) and a couple of Lumbar disc's that are torn, bulging to the front, then just to top it off and hereditary neuropathy that I've been told if it were in my mucscle's it would be muscular dystrophy, but it's in my nerves. They don't have any better name for it.
What I do for pain management is ice. Not real glamorus or popular, but it works on the spinal cord nerve pain. I recently got a TENS unit that helps and I'm learning how to work with a Cervical tranction unit. Otherwise- Chamommile tea for help with sleeping and I just recently found a liquid mineral suppliment that helps keep the muscle spasms down.
Mostly what I do is not let my magical-magnifying mind tell me things are worse than they really are. If I can....get quiet and really check in with what do I feel right now....not worse because I'm in self pity and resentment at having to deal with this in the first place, nor less because I'm tired of it altogether. Just what it is; as it really is.
Hope that helps encourage someone else...thanks for listening.
