Are you talking about Suboxone? I find that it works pretty well for migraine pain, really takes the edge off it. It isn't as effective for me as oxy, but it doesn't get me dozy or high at all. It isn't like that. It also completely takes away all withdrawal symptoms if you are opiate dependent and if you take it properly. However, and this is a big however, it does cause physical dependancy. Just as other opiates/opioids. Never having taken methadone, I can't tell you if it is easier to kick than methadone, but everyone who has taken both say that suboxone is much easier to detox from. I always functioned really well on it, just like on nothing at all pretty much. And I didn't feel as deprived tapering as I did from tapering off oxy. This is a huge decision for you to make.

Even though are sure you are just dependant, I advise you to check out your local NA or AA meeting for a little support going through this. You may find that you have more in common with us "messed up" addicts than you think. Many of us in recovery are nice, responsible parents who got our habit off of pain pills legitimately prescribed.

I thought I was just "drug dependant" too, until I tried to get off prescribed oxys. Then I found I needed some help. That's just my story, may be different from you. Good Luck and do your research before you choose your medication.
