How long ago do you think the drinking started leading into problem drinking?
Have you ever had issues with serious depression BEFORE the drinking became a problem?

I ask because, often it has been discovered that addictions rise out of an attempt to self-medicate a deeper issue. And with your age in your 20's, it also makes me wonder if there might be some underlying issue?

Do you know of any other family members, on either mom or dad's side, having ANY issues with addiction or depression or other mental illness issues?

Finally, are you in AA?
