Something that is starting to sink in is how the program (and meetings) is necessary after we quit, for me anyway.

I didn't drink like I did cos I was addicted to alcohol I drank like that because something isn't quite right in my head, lol. And the more I used drugs and to a greater extent alcohol, the more they became my way of coping/self medicating. Take them away and where is medication? The medication that kills me and destroys my life. The medication that has done more harm than good for over a decade or more.

"the reason we're all here is because we're not all there." LOL, I heard that in a meeting today for the first time.

Now I am going to more meetings I am starting to feel more a part of AA and it is helping.
