Considering most of the posters here are much wiser than I, I would take their word for this. However, as a newbie to recovery like me, I can see how you'd be drawn to O'Douls. Eventually, I think it is a good idea to wean this out as you learn to live alcohol free. One advantage of a non-alcoholic beer in early recovery is it can be a way to avoid a real drink. Totally cold turkey is the best way to go, but so would not eating overly fatty foods, jogging 5 miles a day, and only drinking water as a beverage. We're not perfect. I can see how drinking O'Douls to get you through one of your first tough weekends can actually be an aid to not giving in to really drinking. My Grandad quit drinking for 25 years and I'd always see O'Douls in his fridge, and thought nothing of it. I know that it has a low alcohol content, about .05, the same amount as orange juice. If I were you, I wouldn't beat myself up and start over. The positive momentum you will gain by giving yourself credit for the 9 days you have gone, is far greater than the principle of starting over because you had a negligable amount of alcohol IMO. I think your mind is right, you're intentions are to maintain sober, so I say give yourself credit because you deserve it.
