I remind myself that this is the authors concept of God to his understanding and in AA we can have an understanding of our own, even if its different from the author or various author's of the Big Book.

I do the same. To me everything in the BB is a suggestion or opinion of the author(s) and like my understanding God I an free to develop my own opinion or understanding Of the BB. In this way I avoid any conflicts with my core beliefs.
