There are several GOOD recovery sites on the net, that I have found.

Sober Recovery being one of the oldest is really good. SR has lots of members which insures, literally, that when someone posts here for the first time, it will be only minutes before they have a response. This is part of what makes SR great.

SR also has different forums for different needs.

It is an excellent all around recovery site.

Yes I have been a member for some time now, and in actuality I had joined earlier, but something happened to my original membership (I couldn't remember what Nickname I had used and what password I had used, and which email addy I had used, how's that for forgetfulness? rofl) and I rejoined in early April of '04.

I use SR and give responses now and then. I use several other recovery sites also. It is a great substitute when one cannot make a F2F MEETING. I still believe that face to face is the best. One can 'read' the anothers expression and body language, there is almost instant 'gratification' that someone else does understand and has been where you are.

However, that being said, there are also 'shut ins', health issues, and other things that may keep a person from f2f, and that is when SR and sites like it become so important.

My biggest concern has been and still is, that others may be 'selling themselves short' by ONLY using on line recovery.

Other than that, yep SR is one of the better recovery sites on line.
