Ken you have them, I assume you have spoken to some AA folks about this, it never hurts to have those who have been there and done that around, you will actually be helping them as much as they will be able to help you through this. Day 3-4 were the worse for me, day 3 was when they had to start upping my meds to keep away the DTs and my bloodpressure was all over the place.
Do not try to tough it out, there is no need to gamble, if the shakes get bad let the doctor know, it is better to have the doc up the meds then put you in the emergency room. Keep the doc updated, do not sit and think "Well I will wait a little while, it will get better." It can go from the shakes to seizures with no real warning.
I am not trying to scare you, it is not that bad as long as the doctor knows what is going on and can keep you properly medicated.
