| Hearing Voices
Over the course of the last week, my son has told three different Dr.'s in his outpatient treatment program that he is hearing a voice that is telling him to kill them. ie while he is speaking to them, they make him angry and the voice tells him to kill them and he repeats the message aloud. The Dr.'s did not share this with me. Eventually my son did.
When I asked the Dr.'s about this, their response is that they don't think my son is a danger to himself or anyone else since he recognizes that the voice is a product of his illness and not an actual command from a diety.
They did up his lithium, zyprexa and clonopine (sp?) after the 3rd time he reported the voice.
I think they're naive beyond words. I think this is how people end up getting shot in school auditoriums (or possibly get killed while sleeping in their own beds). Anyone have any insight to share? |
