| Daily Gratitude List
Starting this morning, I am keeping a small notebook in my back pocket for a daily Gartitude list. I already carry enough junk around that I asked my Wife for a Batman Utility Belt for Christmas; she thought I was joking! My magically forgetting memory keeps me away from gratitude, so to provide further memory loss, I will list each morning my gratitude for this new life, no matter how repetitious it maybe. I need reminders. I need repetition. So instead of preaching it, I will enact it.
My name is Ron and I am a recovered Alcoholic; I say this at every meeting I attend and I introduce myself to newcomers or folks I do not know in recovery the same way. Why? There are a variety of reasons, but the most importnat reason is that I remember who I am. The notebook will remind me what I have been so fortunate to be a part of on a daily living basis.
I have shared on several occasions that I work for a Cemetery and Funeral Home company. Every day I drive and walk through 100 acres of individual interments. On many occasions, family members and friends will stop by to see their loved one. It is a one way conversation. The decedent has forever lost the ability to interact; this speaks volumes to me and with this in mind, I decided to take some action.
