Some day I hope that Alcoholics Anonymous will help the public to a better realization of the gravity of the alcoholic problem, but I shall be of little use if my attitude is one of bitterness or hostility. Drinkers will not stand for it.
After all, my problems were of my own making. Bottles were only a symbol. Besides, I have stopped fighting anybody or anything. I have to!
One thing I did lose over the years was what chapter 7 tells me. It tells me that practical experience shows that nothing will so much insure immunity from drinking as intensive work with other alcoholics. It works when other activities fail. Notice it doesnt say newcomer is says another alcoholic. I dont see me doing that very well. Something I need to work on and in truth its in my best interest to do so.
