Thank you, this story is so very beautiful. I have one rose bush in my yard that has lovely miniature red roses vining along my fence. Yesterday when I was pulling weeds from under it I got stuck twice pretty badly on my right hand. I was tempted to cut it back to a stump or remove it entirely. This story has changed my mind. I'm going to keep it there and let it be my own Thanksgiving Special all year round.
