This is what I used to ground myself at a new job.
Everything was foreign to me and I needed something to bring me back to
reality and the here and now.
I tucked inside my pocket a tiny hairbrush of my granddaughter's. Whenever a perceived "stressful" event took place, I held the tiny hairbrush in my hand while still hidden in my pocket.
It brought me back to what was important to the here and now, and the "event" surely dissolved into something much more manageable.
I was touted as a calm, relaxed and composed "new" employee even though I thought I was a mess! Grounding is an excellent tool for everyone to use...if only we would remember to use it.
