There is variation among individual chemistries.
I had an endocrinologist who put me on Ritalin for --- would you believe--- the brain fog that he thought would be a side reaction to my allergy to wheat. He also gave me vitamin B shots (a good idea).
The wheat allergy is real . . . and the chronic pain that I experienced in my tendons was the reason why my primary doc gave me HC in the first place!
I took less than the prescribed dosage. It was terrific for awhile . . . I seemed to have improved concentration, and sometimes more energy. But eventually I experienced a rebound reaction, where I would be out of energy and feel drained. My wife describes it as "blowing out your adrenals" from too much stimulation.
I found that life was better without the AADD meds . . .
