This subject line caught my eye even though I've never posted in this forum.
Soma is a terrible drug if you are the type of person who gets hooked on sedative/hypnotics! Plus, as it isn't very well controlled, it's so easy to get that ... it seems like addiction can get out of hand very fast.
How do I know this? My mom has been addicted to soma for something like 10 years.
I have no idea how she discovered it. Her favorite thing to do is to mix it with alcohol and put herself in to week long comas. Eventually that was all she ever did. I broke contact with my family for almost 10 years (due to their crazy addiction nonsense), but when I restored contact (mainly out of curiousity to see if they were still alive) that's what I found. My mom spent 24/7 sleeping. Never bathed, ate, nothing. It was ... alarming. Not to mention the fact that the ambulance was there weekly when she overdosed. That my father sat by watching this is alarming too, but that belongs in another forum.
She's been in and out of rehabs for the last 5 years and her longest period sober has been ~7 months.
It's awesome that you quit it and stayed quit. I sincerely wish you the best because I know where it goes. Keep working it and keep praying!
Good luck!
