I had seven DWI's, and didn't have a drivers license for 14 years. I also live in a rural community (2 1/2 miles from town). For the past 8 1/2 years I rode a bicycle. Clocked over 40,000 miles of my mountain bikes in that period of time. I rode to meetings day and night (had very good lighting system), and in all seasons of the year. During that period of time I never lacked for anything, I never even ran out of toliet paper. Now that I am driving I seem to run out of things, but I am able to go get them. I go to church, but when the snow was deep, it was the AA people who called to see if I need anything from the store. My last suspension was for 10 years, and without AA and by the grace of God, I could have never made it. I surely would have been in prison still. I got my drivers license in Jan. and a week later I was able to score a 2007 HD Road King Classic.........the promises of AA do come true, some quickly some slowly.......... a mid-fifty year old man riding a bicycle for 8 1/2 years in a small community was humbling.........but you know something? "God will exalt the humble, and humble the exalted."........the choice is yours.
Find a meeting and go, get a sponsor and work the steps. then reach out and help someone else and watch God work miracle after miracle in your life.
You'll either get sobered-up, locked-up, or covered-up.......you make the decision.
