I forgave those on my 4th step list. Today, I can honestly say I harbor almost no residual resentments. I will sometimes see something to remind me, and I'll quickly remember the resentment, but I no longer obsess constantly over it. It's gone, in an instant.
And, I forgave myself for the way I acted. I'm not absolving myself of any responsibility, but I WAS sick. Very sick. No one in their right mind would intentionally, willfully, and cheerfully live the way I did.
