This is a very interesting experience. I believe in out of body experiences because I've had them myself, one particularily strong, but I was afraid they old LSD flashbacks, so I wrote an article about Near Death experiences and did research on these experiences in various cultures. That was truly amazing. I interviewed doctors who specialized in rescussitating people and people who had had them. Everyone has similar experience, similar to what you had, although there is a big difference in Near Death and Out of Body experiences.
Maybe your experience is telling you to nurture yourself more, or maybe you just got so relaxed you went out of your body for a stroll. In the Bouddiste centre in London, the monks told me if I got scared to imagine I was moving my little finger, and then I would get straight into your body. Turns out it works.
