Hi Lilya,
First you have to tell me what type of peeling you are getting, although since you mention crystals I am assuming you are getting what is called Microdermabrasion. The way microdermabrasion works is by using extremely fine crystals to exfoliate the surface of the skin, thereby removing dead skin cells. When a good exfoliation is done, your skin will shine and look very glowy and healthy. This is because the newer skin cells are exposed after the dead ones are exfoliated.
I am trained to do microdermabrasion, however there are limits to it. It can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, but estheticians (at least here in US) are not allowed to do the deeper treatments that would eliminate fine lines and wrinkles.
Research on microdermabrasion indicates that the treatment stimulates production of collagen. Collagen is what makes your skin look plump, and fills in lines and wrinkles among other things.
I can give you lots more info, however I'm curious does your beauty expert not explain all of this to you when you have your treatment. I'm not meaning to sound critical in the least, just curious.
There are also other types of peels, so if you have any more questions feel free to ask.
Juls
