he obviously has some issues going on....I personally struggle with biting people's head's off when i'm hypomanic or in a mixed bipolar state....but I work hard to become aware of myself when i get like this and try hard not to do this.

Sounds like he may have some paranoia going on too. And i'm guessing he has addiction issues?? Addicts tend to act in these types of ways. My opinion is that it comes from a lack of self-esteem and other things. They are not happy within themselves and therefore they think others are against them too. Sounds like this is a situation where detaching from him, with love, might be a good idea.

Just know that he is acting like this because of things going on within him.....it's absolutely not you. But at the same time....don't put up with it. You and your mom deserve to be treated better and it's up to you to make sure people respect you not to treat you like this. It's hard to put that foot down, but much better for all involved in the long-run if you do stand up for your right not to be treated badly by anyone....most importantly....it's much better for YOUR emotional health.
