I've been taking antabuse under a doctor's care for about six months now.
I have had no reaction to anything I've consumed and I've never had an urge to "test it" to see if it's working. I am careful about foods such as dressings, sauces, etc, and have become an avid label-reader.
I have no problem taking that pill each morning because I know it guarantees me at least a week of abstinence. I recently had blood tests including liver enzymes and they came back perfect. My dosage is 250mg/day.
Your doctor has gone over the precautions with you, so good luck. Combining this med with an effective recovery program has a very high efficacy rate.
