Ok, what is "pdoc"?

We (or i) need clarification. It can either mean psychiatric doctor or primary doctor.

I'm guessing primary?

I also made this a full thread to explain some basic differences: A psychologist holds a doctoral degree in psychology. That can either be a Ph.D. or Psy.D. but he is not a doctor of medicine. He cannot prescribe medications.

The only true psychiatrist is a HIGHLY schooled (takes many, many years believe me) doctor of psychiatry.

Social workers, mental health counselors, psyhotherapists, can all be just about anything, though usually two-year degreed and up, and call themselves an "expert."

So there's my contribution LOL now what is it ppl mean when they say pdoc.

Thanks!
