Cocaine Rehab
Thursday, April 8th, 2010A Greater Demand for Cocaine Rehab
It used to be said that “Cocaine is God’s way of telling you you have too much money.” Back in the day, cocaine use was primarily restricted to the rich because it was so expensive. These days, however, cocaine is readily available to people in all walks of life, and some forms, such as crack, have become epidemic in lower income areas. Estimates of the number of cocaine abusers in the US range from about 600,000 to 3.6 million. More than 22 million people—ten percent of the country’s population—have tried cocaine, and 5,000 more try it every day. Many if not most of these people will become addicted and need to undergo cocaine rehab.
What Kind of Cocaine Rehab Is Right for You?
If you are one of the unfortunate many who have become a slave to this highly addictive drug, you’ve made an excellent decision to look into cocaine rehab. There are a great many treatment facilities available to you, so here are some things to think about when making your selection.
Unless you are one of those affluent users, costs may be a primary concern. Your first step should be to check your health insurance, if you have any, to see whether treatment is covered. If you don’t have coverage, there are programs that will allow you to finance your treatment over time. If even that is out of reach, check out non-profit and publicly funded treatment centers.
The twelve-step protocol is part of most rehab programs, though the emphasis based upon it varies. Holistic treatment centers may use such methods as self-hypnosis, biofeedback and acupuncture in addition to counseling. Other programs may take a primarily medical, faith-based or psychological approach.
